These cover using this website. They are not terms of sale: nothing is for sale here yet, and when it is, buying will have its own terms which you will see before you pay.

This site is operated by verdIQore. By using the site you accept these terms. If you do not, please do not use it.

The guides are general advice

We publish horticultural guides, and we research them properly and cite our sources. They are still general information, not advice about your particular plant in your particular room. Living things vary, conditions vary, and no article can see your windowsill.

Use your judgement, and please change one thing at a time. We cannot accept responsibility for what happens to a plant, and nothing on this site is professional horticultural, veterinary or agricultural advice.

The waitlist

• Does not reserve stock or guarantee you will be offered anything
• Takes no payment. There is nothing to cancel and nothing to refund

It means we will contact you when there is something to say. You can leave at any time using the link in any email we send.

Talking to vIQ

vIQ is an AI assistant. It answers from the content of this website and it can be wrong. Treat what it says the same way you would treat the guides: useful, not authoritative. Do not send it anything confidential or sensitive.

What is ours

The verdIQore name, the logo, the software, the designs and everything written or drawn on this site belong to us or our licensors. You are welcome to read it, share links to it, and quote a reasonable amount with credit and a link.

You may not copy it wholesale, republish it as your own, or use it to train a machine learning model without our written permission.

Using the site sensibly

Please do not:

• Try to break, overload or gain unauthorised access to anything here
• Scrape it at a volume that affects other people using it
• Submit anything unlawful, or anything that is not yours to submit
• Use the forms or the chat to send bulk or automated messages

Links to other places

Our guides cite outside sources, usually university extension services and botanical gardens. We link to them because they are good, not because we control them, and we are not responsible for what they say or do.

Availability

We try to keep the site up and correct, but we do not promise it will always be available or always free of errors. We may change or remove any part of it, including guides, as things improve or as we learn we got something wrong.

Liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for loss arising from using this site or relying on its content, including loss of plants, loss of data, loss of profit, or any indirect loss.

Nothing here limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited. If you are a consumer, your statutory rights are unaffected.

Privacy

How we handle your information is set out in the privacy policy and the cookie policy, which form part of these terms.

Changes

We may update these terms. The date at the top says when we last did. If you keep using the site afterwards, that is acceptance of the updated version.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of British Columbia, Canada, and the courts of British Columbia have exclusive jurisdiction, except that if you are a consumer you may also bring proceedings where you live.
